New Life provides education and training that prepares couples to be successful in parenting an adopted child.
• Adoptive families are required to attend two Adoption Seminars. These seminars provide information on the process of adoption - timeline and legal issues, bonding and attachment, understanding the needs of the birthmother, raising/parenting adopted children, the importance of growing a healthy and lasting relationship between the adoptive family and birth family, and the benefits to adopted children in having a lifelong connection to the birth family.
• Read the books on our Required Reading List during the home study process.We also require that families receive training in CPR and that first-time parents attend an Infant Care class.
