New Life Pregnancy Center began in 1983 as New Life Children’s Services. New Life was birthed from the heart of the late A.B. “Bo” Henderson, associate pastor of Houston Northwest Baptist Church, as he counseled with women in crisis pregnancies. Bo said, “One of the first girls I counseled came to me because she wanted her child to be placed in a Christian home.” He began the often difficult and tedious process of licensing the ministry with the State of Texas in 1983. Today New Life and Houston Northwest are separate entities; however, the church continues to support New Life in many ways.
In 1986 Sara Black was named Executive Director of New Life, and shortly thereafter Henderson moved out of state. Through Sara’s leadership, New Life increased its pregnancy counseling and support services as well as adoption services. In 1989 Cindy Seay, RN, was hired to expand pregnancy-related services. New Life was accepted into Focus On The Family’s Operation Ultrasound Program in 2005, received two ultrasound machines, and began offering free ultrasounds both at the main office in Houston and at the satellite office opened in Magnolia, Texas that same year.
New Life has ministered to thousands of women over the years, and has placed almost 400 babies with Christian families. New Life continues to expand the scope of services provided as God blesses us with guidance, growth, and the support of others who have a heart for women and babies in crisis
Blessed is she who has believed that what the Lord has said to her will be accomplished. Luke 1:45
